Tips for trampolining safely

Austrian accident prevention organisation Grosse Schützen Kleine has published advice on the safe use of trampolines and bouncy castles to prevent children being injured. The greatest sources of danger when jumping on a trampoline include the risk of collision and the spring effect when several people jump at the same time. In the private sector, the condition of the trampoline may also be an issue, or the safety net may be missing. Failed somersault attempts are among the leading causes of accidents, especially in trampoline parks. On a bouncy castle, the uneven surface can make it difficult to assess and control jumps and landings leading to injuries, GSK says.
